Intarsia is an ancient form of woodworking where different types, species, colors, grains, and thicknesses of wood are cut in individual pieces, shaped and sanded to form a picture.

Fretwork is as easy as it sounds. It is simply a picture drawn on a piece of wood and then cut out.
